EDS/POTS Correlation

There are many different "causes" of POTS (some unknown)
Less commonly, there is a genetic and acquired way to develop POTS.

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome is now an accepted cause of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome.

EDS is a connective tissue disorder, which makes veins dilate excessively. When the veins are dilated(open wide), blood flow cannot be distributed effectively throughout the veins and pooling begins.
(Veins are essentially supposed constrict(tighten/narrow) to push the blood back up to the heart and through the body).

So, people with EDS have loose connective tissue which cannot support their veins adequately and in return, can cause POTS or exacerbated symptoms of POTS.
